3 Vincent Ave. House-project for ArtTrail 2006
3 Vincents Ave is a house project curated for Art Trail 2006 by the nomadic art organisation Skart. Coming to Cork and seeing the possibilities and restrictions that are facing artists in today’s money-driven world, Skart wants to comment on this by staging an art event in a house which is currently inhabited. The artists were asked to select and/or produce their own work in collaboration with the house and with consideration for its location and structure. Skart Statement: ‘We wanted to make this project to investigate the possibilities that are available to artists to show their work outside of the gallery. There are so many avenues open for experimentation and this hopefully will be the first of many projects that we will develop in Cork in the future.’ Selected Artists: Stephanie (Sticky) Hough Konrad Juscinski Sharon McCarthy Lorraine McDonnell Peter McMorris Bartek Nowak Kevin Tuohy Laurence Wawrzyn Viewing by appointment only and running on an hourly basis from 2pm to 6pm Thursday 28th September to Monday 2nd October 3 Vincents Ave is located in the Shandon area – for directions and to book your place call 0863623523 Places will be limited so book early to avoid disappointment
